Justin retired from competing as an international decathlete in 1985 to start Towerfield Developments, focusing on development of residential apartments mostly in the centre of London during the 80’s. However, with the change in market conditions in the 90’s Justin started Dorepark Ltd largely buying brownfield sites in the Home Counties and successfully adding value through the planning process with predominantly residential developments.

In January 2008 the Whitfield family started the Turnstone Group with £6m of paid-up share capital, having identified the need for a development company that specifically focused on the purchase of properties from asset holders requiring a fast turnaround on a property sale and complex brownfield sites, in an increasingly challenging market.
